What is Physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy is a type of treatment you may need when health problems or injuries make it hard to move around and do everyday tasks. It helps you move better and relieve pain. It also helps improve or restore your physical function and your fitness level.

The goal of physiotherapy is to make daily tasks and activities easier. For example, it may help with walking, going up stairs, or getting in and out of bed. Affinity physiotherapy is also designed to help athletes perform better.

Physiotherapy works to improve the fundamental movements of your body.

What makes Affinity Physiotherapy unique?

Affinity clinicians are certified FMS instructors.  FMS is an advanced screening tool to help determine areas of bio-mechanical and neurological weakness.  This unique approach is considered one of the most advanced tools for injury rehabilitation.

is an area of medicine that is rapidly growing.  Studies are now confirming a healthy body needs to able to move properly in all ranges of motion. If one area is deficient or overcompensating it can effect other areas of the body.

The FMS system is designed to screen for any areas of movement dysfunction, score the effected area and design a custom plan to correct the abnormal movement pattern.

If you're an athlete who wants to improve performance or rehab an injury this system is perfect for you. If you've been in a car accident or had a "whiplash" type injury this system helps tremendously improve long term recovery.
